The client’s requirement:

Our client, part of the Ministry of Transport, provides services to train operating companies and was encountering difficulties in collecting service fees on time.

It decided to outsource all billing and collections to LPM Outsourcing in order to reduce its arrears and improve cash flow.

LPM Outsourcing’s programme of action:

  • Following conversion of the customer invoicing and receivables data to LPM Outsourcing's system, we implemented a comprehensive arrears management and cash flow improvement programme.
  • The debtor day performance was rapidly improved and the portfolio today runs at an average of 23 debtor days against credit terms of 30 days. Previously it was running at 57 days.
  • The arrears reduction represented a cash injection of over £12 million for our client.
